My favorite! Top quality and very friendly staff!
Great quality and variety of food and lovely service. Definitely highly to recommend.
Sashimi was super!
Sushi and Udon are very delicious. Parking is very easy. Public parking building is next to the restaurant. Real Japanese food!
Amazing sushi, fantastic chef. Very friendly and well paced service.
Very tasty sushi. It would just be nice to have the soy sauce at the table.
Higematsu is a classic Japanese bistro. If you've ever been to Japan, this kind of restaurant is very, very widespread and popular. Home-style cooking of the highest quality, fair prices and very good service are typical of such small, usually family-owned restaurants. It's not rarified cuisine, but it is extremely good. Higematsu is, I think, family-owned. First of all, if you just pop in hoping for a table at lunch time, good luck with that: reservations are a must, especially if you are on limited time. That said, the service is excellent, the food invariably good and above all authentic Japanese. The daily menu is an excellent value. The day-time menu is fairly set, with Udon soups, classic Japanese dishes like Kontasu (Japanese Schnitzel), as well as classics like tempura, sushi and sashima. The mixed grilled fish is excellent as well. The evening menu is where Higematsu shines: classics of the Japanese kitchen abound. Highly, highly recommended. One of the hidden gems of the Frankfurt restaurant scene!
Daytime set meal cost-effectiveness high! The ingredients are fresh and the clerk is very kind. it's recommended Es war recht lecker !!!! Und auch sehr günstig. Empfehlenswert !!! ??
Very good sushi, not the filling sticky rice that sticks up your stomach and leaves you feeling bloated.
It was nice because the atmosphere was very Japanese. It is actually run by Japanese people. Food was also neat and delicious. However, the amount is a little bit too expensive ?
Authentic Japanese in the center of Frankfurt, but slightly hidden in a side street. High quality sushi by a real Japanese sushi master. Good lunch offers also on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the portions have gradually become smaller in recent years. Still a recommendation.
Very tasty food, but a bit expensive (around 45 € per person). The service was very friendly, although most of the time I didn't understand anything because my colleagues talked to the staff in Japanese.
I love it ♡ beautiful authentic Japanese cuisine. You have a really large selection and can always discover something new. Also a good place for small celebrations. E.g. birthday, Christmas party, etc.
We happened upon a Friday for lunch, good service and great sushi menu. Prices in my opinion contained.
Very good taste, small price
Wow! Super friendly and fun service. Food was fantastic. Not cheap, but it was absolutely worth it. Was very happy to visit the restaurant at Higematsu!
we just enjoyed the most excellent cold soba noodles with tempura and the sushi menu for a late lunch. friendly staff, good hygene concept and very authentic style. green tea offered complimentary. highly recommended.
Excellent, authentic Japanese food. The eggplant is recommended.
Most authentic Japanese food in Germany
Super authentic & very tasty - easy to recommend.
Atmosphere wise pretty authentic but sushi wasn’t that impressive. Willing to try other dishes next time though...
I went with my friends. Is delicious. I also have lunch
It will be full for lunch, so it may be better to make a reservation. There is a lunch set for around 12-17 euros. The shop people are also very kind and excited. It's easy to see if you're too busy, so if you forget something, it's okay at all, so I'm sorry I'm working so hard. It is normal to automatically order drinks when you have lunch in a calm store in Germany, but this will serve tea, so if you have lunch outside, it is price effective think. And it's delicious!
Close to the hotel. German food is salty. The tempura kind is not salty but tastes good
Food is really great here, and very authentic when compared to many Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. Service is very mixed, sometimes it's great (proper omotenashi) and sometimes it's quite bad. They're always friendly, but sometimes they seem to forget they have guests after they served the mains.
Good food, good staff
The best and most authentic Japanese in comparison with cheap prices. Really great, super friendly, tried very hard, like in Japan. Always my pleasure...
Great food, polite staff. My favourite!
Very good but expensive.
The food was delicious, the waiters very friendly and the place reminded me of Japan.
I love this restaurant. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. I've been going here since ages ago. It's authentic and the service is great. absolutely recommend!
Great food - origonal atmosphere
fantastic place
Delicious, authentic food, friendly service. Ambience could be better, especially the toilet does not look so good, but otherwise I can not fault it.
The food is great!!!
Very nice Japanese restaurant, taste greats, Japanese chef deliver pretty original flavor, better then my expectation, definitely going back again.
Top sushi place in Frankfurt
Very good Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt city center. The offered menus are recommended, but with prices between 25-40 € not cheap. But they are well worth the money. Otherwise you can put together a large selection of Japanese specialties yourself.
Realy nice Japanese restaurant, good lunch menue and also sashimi
Cozy restaurant serving authentic Japanese food.
Service is good. Food is very authentic. We had a variety of dishes here—sushi, grilles, udon, and pot rice. They are of great quality, comparable to the ones in japan.
Authentic japanee food. You wont find many better places in Frankfurt.
Definitely reserve, as it is always full! Food very good really authentic. Quality instead of quantity but really good. Day menu is different every day, so ask what are today)
The spicy sushi and sashimi was really delicious. The service is really friendly and fast too!
Very surprised with the food quality. First they served Miso soup with drinks??? I was like what? Which Japanese restaurant would do this? Then have ordered sushi and some yakitori Another surprise with buta bara/ pork belly with cut onion smells bad and taste like a frozen food. When checked menu it was written that is is pork.... why added into Yakitori menu? Then tsukune was eatable but again sauce was disgusting.... and I believe it was frozen food too. Then came Negima... Negi is green onion but served again with onion and chicken sounds freshly made but again sauce was disqusting Badly could anything Tabesaki is chicken wings with V shape. It was just normal chick wing. Overly priced one yakitori is 2.6€about 325¥ chicken is nothing special and locally available Sushi was okay and eatable but very small neta/fish Anyway. I won't visit again. But if you are planning to it is okay. But do think It is Japanese Restaurant eventhough run by Japanese. Check the photos what I am saying.
Udon is average, but sushi was good.
Food wasn't authentic
Authentic Japanese food (for what I can tell) in a nice environment.
bad service during the lunch time, using unfresh and expired food ingredients.
The staff provides a very comfortable atmosphere and service is provided on Japanese level. The food is a great experience, too. We tried fried chicken and sushi; both exceptionally good. After the first sushi set, we ordered a second and stopped then only because we just couldn’t eat more. This restaurant is a rare experience in Europe, were many sushi restaurants exchange the quality of food and service with posh design. We are looking forward to our next visit when we come to Frankfurt again!
